We’re working together with young people in Thetford to find out what’s out there – and what’s missing – for youth activities and support in the town. The Thetford YP Project is all about listening, collaborating, and ultimately creating a film that shares your stories and insights. We want to know what’s working well, what needs improving, and what’s really important to you. Your ideas and voices will help shape better opportunities for young people in Thetford. Together, we’re making sure every young person feels heard and valued in their community.
What's happening?
We’re gathering details of activities, groups, and support available to young people in Thetford. We’ll bring this information together into one helpful resource and share it with the library, youth groups, and others to make it easier for everyone to find help and fun!
We’re talking directly with young people. So far, six young people have joined us to help guide the project. They’ve been creating flyers, drafting letters to local leaders like the Mayor, and shaping how we ask questions and gather stories that truly reflect their experiences and ideas.
We’re going out to different estates in Thetford, chatting with young people and gathering feedback through a short questionnaire. If you see us around – come say hello and share your ideas to help shape our film and project together with the community!
What's nEXT?
The film we’re creating will bring together the voices, experiences, and ideas of young people in Thetford. It’s not just about what’s out there – it’s about how young people feel about the activities and support available to them, and what they believe could make Thetford an even better place to live and grow. Through this film, we’re sharing these stories with the wider community, amplifying young people’s voices and showing what matters most to them.
